Cary, NC:

August 31st there will be a wine walk supporting the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. You will be able to walk through Waverly Place and sample red, white, and sparkling wines. All of the proceeds go to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund that helps the fight against all women’s cancers.

Downtown Raleigh, NC:

September 1st-2nd the annual African American Cultural Festival will be held on Fayetteville street in Raleigh. Local, national and international artists, performers, and food vendors will be featured. The festival has become Raleigh's premiere destination for teaching, sharing and celebrating the distinctive folk and cultural traditions of African Americans here in N.C. and from around the world.

Wake Forest, NC:

Spend an afternoon “unplugged” and away from your electronics to connect with your families and neighbors. The Wake Forest Recreation Advisory Board will host Wake Forest Unplugged on September 2nd from 4:00-6:00 pm. Come out to E. Carroll Joyner Park for sack and relay races, corn hole, and mini golf!

 

Chapel Hill, NC:

The Grateful Dead Tribute Band, Better Off Dead, will be playing on the Village Green on September 2nd at 6:00 pm. Picnics are encouraged. No cover charge!

Littleton, NC:

August 31st is the Friday Night Street Dance at 7:00 pm with Steve Owens and his band. There will be food vendors on site. On Saturday, September 1st the Littleton Lake Gaston Festival starts at 10:00 am. There will be a car show, carnival rides, craft and food vendors and more!

Durham, NC:

September 3rd is the 3rd annual Labor Day Shrimp Boil & Oktoberfest Kick Off! It will be held at the Motorco Music Hall at 12:00 pm. Food plates are $15 in advance and $20 at the venue. A food plate includes a pound of shrimp, potatoes, and corn on the cob.
